Inside connective tissue is where you find elastin, it gives tissues in the body the ability to return to their orignal shape after being stretched or contracted.


Elastin serves very important functions in the arteries and is unusually abundant in blood vessels such as those found in the aorta. Elastin is also heavily relied on by the lungs, elastic ligaments, and the skin.
